Sunshine Club Makes a Generous Donation
to the Family of Young Girl Who Loses Her Battle with Leukemia
Alexis, the 13-year old granddaughter of our founder,
Debbie, lost her five-year battle with Leukemia on September 20, 2008. Upon hearing the sad news, Hana made it her mission
to circulate a sympathy card and take up a collection for Lexie's family. She successfully rallied the Sunshine Club
ladies and collected over $450, which was then given to Lexie's Mom to help with the funeral and memorial service. Many
thanks to Hana for such a selfless act of kindness and to all the ladies who so generously donated to her cause.
As you know, Alexis loved to attend our Sunshine Club
luncheons as often as possible, but especially around the Christmas holidays, when we would have the White Elephant Gift Exchange.
She was an amazing young lady and an inspiration to everyone she met. She will be dearly missed.
